Bridget the Sergeant at Arms brought the meeting to order and went through the housekeeping information before passing on to the next role, the Toastmaster for the evening. Elizabeth welcomed the 2 visitors to the meeting, explained what Toastmaster is all about and then introduced the people who were carrying out roles during the evening
Bridget was back up as Timekeeper with homemade green, yellow and red cards (A green Frog laundry basket lid, an orange and a red finger piano), Andy was Grammarian with his word of the day ‘Liberty’, Ah Counter was Steve.
Next up was the first speaker, Arthur who’s speech was entitled ‘Let Battle Commence’. Arthur was evaluated by Val. Andy was next with his speech ‘A Walk In The Park’ which was evaluated by Lianna.
The winner of the best speaker award for the evening was……… Andy.
Stephanie ran an education slot looking at tips on how to frame yourself whilst doing an online speech.
Table Topics were next, this is the impromptu speaking bit where people are asked a question and have to answer straight away for up to 2 minutes. This session’s Table Topics Master was Andrew and his questions around the topic of freadom.
A shout out to one of our guests, Phillip who spoke for the first time and did very well with his Table Topic. But long standing member Lianna was the person who gained the best Table Topics ribbon.
The evening was rounded up with the evaluations with Andrew coming out on top.
